Long time ago, the theory of gravity was thought to be a fact (much like some people today think the theory of evolution is a fact) but it was proven to have flaws, and was generally improved by Einstein's theory of relativity. The theory of gravity works fine in our Earth environment, because it assumes that the Earth is perfectly spherical, but in reality it is not, that's why it is approximated. IMHO our science can only scratch the surface of big facts, and as soon some people discover something, many others quickly jump to simplistic conclusions. There is much more going on that the simple theory of evolution.
