Go see it, the joker is so good. I loved this its my favourite movie.

It's definitively a different kind of superhero movie. I was expecting a 'feel good superhero movie' but it was very dark and depressing. My boyfriend loved it, on the other hand. The effects, plot and acting was very well done though.

I was very disappointed after all the hype of this movie. WAY too long maybe if I was watching in the comfort of my home it would have been tolerable but the movie dragged at points and I had trouble keeping my enthusiasm up. The two face bit I thought would lead into a sequel but since the movie was the length of two they wrapped that one up too. As for Heath I have always enjoyed him and he did a fine job but not the oscar buzz that has been floating around. This move was Saw meets Psycho, not batman. Too bad.

The Joker was outstanding - however the rest was just a meaningless excuse for gratuitous violence, explosions and special effects. It was not boring because it was irritating particularly in the convoluted drawn out senseless plot.

This movie is only good when Heath Ledger is doing his thing on screen he is amazing in this movie to bad this world has lost a great talent and on another note the bat man in this flick sounds like a lung cancer patient know offense to cancer patients I lost my mom and dad to cancer so I know what this cancer can do have a nice day.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Amazing movie and a must see. Only thing I didn't like is the ending... Batman should never have to run away from cops. He his the hero gotham needed so why let a distraught physco be the good guy? But the movie was to overwhelmingly good for me to get too worked up about that detail.

Does not impress... Should have let Joker do his thing and leave everything else out of it. The movie is too long to get to the same conclusion. Joker is psycho, we get it, lets move on. Legder was incredible!

Bummer. I'm an old geezer but I like a wide range of movies; I loved Hellboys; I loved the Batman series... until now. This one stunk and I'm shocked that the critics raved about it. The trademark of a Batman movie is of a certain dark menace, but that menace is always abstracted--comic-book stylized and contorted, founded on bizarre, funny performances by the likes of Nicolsen, Carrie and DeVito--so that the menace remains bottled and doesn't pollute the harmless thrills and fun... of a comic book hero. This movie too features a great performance by Heath Ledger. But the mistake--contrary to what the critics claim--was to make Batman more realistic... and the violence not only real but the major part of the movie. There's no fun in this movie; there's no imaginative new ideas; there's no sexy heroine. OK, so past Batmans never had brilliant plots but this movie needed something. Not even that. The producers have given us two and a half hours of the violent, paranoid violent imaginings... the same kind of lame, far-fetched stupidity that characterizes second rate horror movies. Fine if you like tedious unnecessary violence. This is NOT a Batman movie. Three teenagers in front of us spent half the movie obviously bored out of their minds, checking their cellphones.

It's hard to give any movie a 'ten' even if it gives you shivers and makes you hot and bothered when you remember your favorite scenes but this one's close. Been working in and watchin films for 31 years and I love films that move you irregardless of the genre but we're talking about a 'comic book' movie with all the right stuff. I'm smelling a 'first' at the 81st Academy Awards - stay tuned and enjoy this 'gem' cause they don't come often.

You have seen this kind of american fairy tale million times before. One tuff guy kills all the terrorists and saves the whole city. Focusing on saving a city doesn't make it look more realistic than those movies where a tuff american guy saves the world from evil. What a baloney load of crap. Can't believe I got talked into paying to see this nonsense. This movie has absolutely zero percent of ideas which would make you think. Zero philosophy. Zero message. Just pure butt kicking while wearing ridiculous costumes. No wonder all people in America and to certain degree most people in Canada are [...]. Because they are brainwashed by this mindless pop culture which offer no educational or artistic value at all. They play the movie called Outsourced right now at the theatres. I would recommend it million times more over this nonsense. At least you would learn something about life by watching it. As for this batman idiocy - I want my money back.

I think this is the best of the Batman franchise so and I think everyone should go see it. I love Heath Ledger as the Joker he blows away Jack Nickelsons Joker. Aron Echart as Two Face is better than Tommy Lee Jones portrayal of him.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Taking a more realistic approach to judging this movie (I have seen it 5 times now), I have come to realize that The Dark Knight isn't a masterpiece as I had previously thought. I will undoubtedly be criticized for being too objective on a movie that was beforehand a cartoon/comic. Granted it asks for the audience to keep realistic idea's on the back burner as with other movies such as Ironman or The Incredible Hulk, but that being said makes it seem as if it were produced for a mainly adolescent crowd, that is easily entertained by drawn out fight scenes and extreme violence. Heath Ledger however, performed remarkably and it was certainly his finest moment, and regrettably his last. Harvey "Two-face" however seemed added as more of a ploy to add in the "wow thats intense" factor by the close-up shots of his burnt face and here is where I will be criticized. Movies such as this ask the audience to be more accepting of whats possible and whats not, but why is it so difficult to actually create a realistic movie? Perhaps I am simply being too picky in my views, but the fact of the matter is Harvey would not be able to talk after his face burned, and also Heath Ledger, had his face truly been cut as it was told, the nerves in his face would have been severed and he wouldn't have been able to laugh or smile as he did. I could go into more details about why I feel this movie and others are beginning to insult my age group's intelligence, but really... whats to wrong with creating a batman that is ACTUALLY realistic and doesn't bank on an audience aged about 13-22 to just accept to watch a movie that is made simply to take your money... but isn't that the way with all movies at the end of the day...

This was one of the best batman films... wait, scratch that. This is THE BEST batman film ever created if not one of the best movies ever created. Heath Ledger puts on a stunner performance as the joker and makes it just that much more loveable. It also teaches many lessons about respect and the value of life. A brilliant piece of work this one is.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The movie probably would have been very good had someone curbed the director's need to over-supply (and I mean OVER-supply) the tons of scenes and sub-plots involving sadism, graphic violence and implied graphic violence, and very long and totally unrealistic scenes of the dude with his face 1/2 burned away. Yes, we have seen Sophie's Choice already so save us the dilemma choices thingee. Yes, we recognize the duality of man thingee so save us the sustained closeups of the 1/2 face. And yes, we have read the bible and understand the temptation thingee. Hollywood continues to drag us deeper into mediocrity punctuated by scenes meant to shock... p. S. I don't ever want to see that crappy dead actor lick his lips again while holding a knife to someone's face. Puleeezzz.

FANTASTIC! This was definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen. Being a skeptic of all the talk of Heath Ledger deserving the Oscar for this, of course I assumed it was because of his tragic ending, however he was Phenomenal! I thought every actor/character was perfectly placed and each provided an outstanding performance. I was captivated from the opening scene to the closing credits and wished I could see the movie again as it ended. I would sum it up by saying this was perfection! If you haven't yet seen it, do so.

Best Batman movie yet! Great tie-ins with other movies - Ledger managed to surpass Nicholson's "JOKER" portrayal (which I didn't think would be possible!) A great dark comic for the big screen has been born.

This is the best movie I've seen in a long time and probably the best 1 I'll ever see. Heath Ledger's performance is amazing, a miracle.
