Brutal movie... almost as bad as Chicago... my worst movie of all time... trust me... you will be bored... very very bored... the type of bored where you start yawning and figitting in your seat... I warned you... pure garbage.

A dreamy meditation on a city, and one's relationship to it. If you have any interest in civic affairs (and if not, why not? ), see this movie. Where you live affects who you are.

Load up on cafeine if you want to stay awake for this film. Weird... boring... I have no idea what it is about although some of the scenes of Winnipeg were a little interesting... If you enjoy other peoples home movies you might find it a bit interesting I suppose... for the rest of us... don't waste your money or time...

Pee your pants laughs. Most Winnipeggers are far too reserved to get this one! Perhaps many in the theatre were "sleep-walking". People seemed bothered when I laughed out loud. Don't take yourselves so seriously people. Not a documentary, more a docu-fantasy.

Guy Maddin definitely provides an highly entertaining, fascinating look at the fact and fiction of Winnipeg and his own life. It's absolutely mesmerizing, and the visuals are just stunning.

Excellent filming and editing turns a so-so story of one man's obsession/memories with his childhood and home town into highly entertaining movie. Defintely too off-the-wall for moviegoers addicted to Hollywood cookie-cutter movies, but a real delight to anyone who enjoys independent film.
