I love westerns and not many good ones come out anymore but this was very good. Great story, great re-make.

I love a good western as long as it looks believable, the costumes and the sets were perfect. It is easily one of the better westerns, great acting and story. Well done.

Over all good movie. Makes you think about morals and who's right and wrong. Russel Crowe and Christian Bale both do a great job. Recommended.

I am not a fan of action or western movies, but this one really worked for me. My wife also loved it. Great characters make a good movie great, and Christian Bale's and Russell Crowe's characters are very intriguing. For my money it was even better than Unforgiven, the Clint Eastwood movie that took the Oscar a few years back.

Good, not fantastic film. Solid acting, storyline, script, setting and action. An enjoyable film.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Disappointing, the promotional material compared it to "Unforgiven". Listen, this is no "Unforgiven". The early scenes were promising. It took place in an interesting time and place -- the coming of the trains in the frontier west. You could see corporate america taking control of everyday life, even back then. There was an intriguing relationship developing between the main characters, but then it all dissolved into the shoot'em up formula. Way too much violence and a maudlin ending where the bad guy shows that he has some good to the young boy.

AMAZING By far my favorite movie with Russell Crowe in it. He did a fantastic job. He created a character who was still likeable no matter what he did. Kudos to James Mangold on such a great film.

An entertaining movie however not as realistic as it could be.

Typical western movie. Russell Crowe developped a relationship with Christian Bale, plus they both were wearing cowbow boots and cowbow hats.

This was a great movie, the best western I have ever seen, and for that it gets a ten, you must see it if you love action and westerns.

Good to finally see a good western drama. Haven't seen one like this since The Unforgiven. I was glued to the screen right until the end. The right chemistry of actors and characters.

The movie is very nice, especially the producer, and the elaborate the civil war times'.

It's great to see a good western as so few are being created.

A pretty good movie indeed. I didn't get a chance to watch the original movie so I can't make any comparisons on that front. All I can say for sure is that even though Russell Crowe and Christian Bale were the stars of the movie... Ben Foster stole the show. He is amazing in his role as the loyal criminal associate of Ben Wade and dominated the story. Excellent cast none the less and a good story line.
