When, in June 1946, Stalin offers the amnesty to the emigrated Russians to come back and rebuild the country, Alexei Golovine, emigrated in France, answers this call and decides to join with his young French wife, Marie, and his son Serioja his native soil. As of the their arrival they face a terrible reality. Many of their companions are executed. Alexei and his family are safe because the authorities recognized the value of this young doctor.
