Narrated by Academy-Award nominee Tom Cruise, SPACE STATION 3D tells the story of a unique partnership of 16 nations building a laboratory in outer space, 320 kilometers from the earth, a permanent facility for the study of the effects of long-duration exposure to zero gravity, and the necessary first step towards a global, cooperative effort needed if we are to go to Mars someday. From the Earth-shaking launch of the Proton Rocket in Kazahkstan carrying the first component of the ISS to the installation and testing of the new version of the famous " Canadian arm ", SPACE STATION 3D enables IMAX audiences to join astronauts from the United States, Canada, Japan, Russia and Europe as they construct the first permanent outpost in space, at more than 28,000 kilometers per hour. As they set up house in their new surroundings, the first resident crew also film their daily life and work, with highlights such as shaving and showering in zero gravity, a fitness session and repairing one of the station's support systems, as well as views of the ever expanding interior.
