The opening credits, making you think there will be something interesting coming, end up being the best of the entire movie. Most Sci-Fi TV series are better than this these days. Both story and screenplay are very poor for a Disney film. Even the kids got bored.

Great Family movie. The kids in this one are funny and the Rock is again great. It's as good as the original and funny in most parts.

It has: Good action, well filmed, a clear flow (doesn't make leaps with script), good casting, great stunts, well done visual effects (without overtaking or becoming the movie) It does NOT have: Gratuitous sex scenes, massive amounts of "body count" (killing), smart mouth kids acting like adults are useless idiots, bad guys that are unnatural in their ability. In short a good movie with fast action and good effects, that you can take the kids to see without having to explain things or feel dismayed at what they've just seen. Go and see it - you won;t be disappointed. You'll also be voting with your wallet which is the only measuring stick hollywood movie producers understand.

I had some expectations but I have to admit I was pleasantly astonished by what I saw, and I'll tell you why. First, although there were plenty of tongue-in-cheeks about "aliens"—such as the enduring UFO convention in Las Vegas, freak costumes and all—they were pretty good natured. Nothing derogatory or fearful. Although there was evil. But the bad guys, in all cases, were black-ops divisions of the military, both in the USA and on the other world. They played the critical roles of moving our characters through some incredible chase, escape, brilliant strategizing, combat, and prudent use of 'paranormal powers' to make for a very exciting action adventure. The paranormal powers are important."Everyone can do it, even you (addressing a human of good will), if you learn to use all of your brain," the heroine explained at one point, after using such powers just in time. All the events were quite believeable, and an extraordinary example (video production today is quite marvellous, eh? ) of what current humanoids need to be able to accept eventually. These tellings bring that day closer. And another aspect, the bad guys are shown to have unbelieveable resources, technology, political support, extra-legal powers, ruthlessness, in the case of the USA cabalistas; and extraordinary technologies, inexorability, in the case of the otherworld baddies. And yet they are repeatedly foiled by the sudden appearance of humans-of-goodwill, non-humans of-goodwill, synchronicities, and other seemingly divine interventions (which are even discussed, 'scientifically'), as to solidify in the minds and hearts of all who see this movie, the incontrovertible fact that the good guys... whoops, I almost gave away one of the themes of this movie. But watch for regular humans, most are pretty decent in a crunch. The other is of course that the otherworlders face parallel planetary challenges to our own, and their baddies, also parallel to our own, are unwittingly (? ) trying to make matters much worse. If they suceed in their apparent madnesses, the future of humankind, and all life on Earth, as well as that of the otherworlders, is doom. This apparent melodrama represents our own real-life present situation, the one the mass media never mention, until now. That is the second golden nugget in this movie. In short, I found it a rousing entertainment, with some benevolent messages, and few if any malevalencies. (I almost cried a couple of times) Take a young person when you go.

The action and comedy is good as well as that little heart warming moment that just touches you I have seen better movies but this is a close second to something like Star Trek.

I think this movie was awesome!!! I like it when the aliens just are in the cab and he doesn't even know it and turns around and is like what the? But ya I would definitely say to go see it!!

This movie is a big hunk of crap... VERY cheezy, and cheap special effects remind me of the older Disney movies. I went expecting great special effects to make this kiddie story more interesting; I was wrong. Avoid at all costs!

This is a really good film. The pace is good and there's plenty of excitement and fun. The characters and plot are interesting. You should see this whatever age you are: adult or child, it appeals to all ages.

Ya this movie was awesome for me. Even thought I am pretty sure kids 7 and under will get bored because the aliens say big words. No bad language it was excellent for me. My nine year old brother and sister couldn't keep their mouth shut about it. Lol.

If you are age 1 to 12, yap, this movie will appeal to you. If you are 13 and above and still has the mind of a 12 year old then yap, it will appeal to you too. Let's just classify it a Sci-fi. Sci-fi Thriller doesn't sound right.

I liked it more than I thought I would. I'm not a huge Dwayne Johnson fan nor do I run out to see the action movies but I was thoroughly entertained. My husband (34) really liked it and said it made him feel like a kid again. Also he said that it is good for all age groups and quote," The Rock is the new Indianna Jones!"

It was a great movie. Very exciting and trilling. Good movie to see on the weekends. Some of the events are very unrealistic though. Even though this is a sci-fi movie, I think some of the events could have been made to be more realistic.

I think this movie was so good because the Rock was in it I just thot it was really really good but come children might not be abel to see it because some guns and some hurting but the rest was really really good I wish thear was 5 movies of it.

I took my 11 year old daughter to see this movie. There were way too many guns for a PG movie. Actually this movie was really lame. Don't go see it. Don't buy the DVD. Don't even watch it when it comes out on TV. I seem to remember the originals being much better. Isn't that always the case?

I have only just seen the trailer. I am a fan of the original, but going by the trailer, the children seem so powerful it seems less believable that they require the help of a... taxi driver. Still, looks fun.
