This is a must see movie - the best on screen work that Plummer has done!! It is not getting enough attention because it's not commercial - what a terrible shame!!

Just couldn't get involved. The story moved way too slow. Three seconds per take is a good speed. To make it worst, the subtitles in French were extremely bright and very distracting. Even though I am French speaking, I choose to see the Original in English and did not expect the subtitles. We left after 20 minutes. You can unfotunately miss that one.

The film is somewhat of a disappointment. Slow to develop its main theme. Promising leads: young-old misunderstnadings; neglect of the aged; cruelty to animals, but in the end the blending of the themes is not convincing. Christopher Plummer is worth seeing in any case. The relationship between the old man and the boy is moving, but not enough to salvage the film.
