Rolling Stones are truly amazing. However they don't look good in this movie, especially on IMAX. Maybe a softer lens could have been used to hide the wrinkles. The additional content is pointless and drawn-out, I don't recommend this movie.

I always liked The Stones and I thought this was great. Great songs like sympathy for the devil and start me up and I cant get no satisfaction the movie was amazing.

Uncle Martin's The Last Waltz re-done with the Stones. I really would have preferred that the stadium performances were used instead of a theater. Cool factors... seeing my home town name on the screen (Regina) and Buddy guy perform. Lighting is good but cameras were positioned too close to the stage with exception of crane shots. Tight shots and rapid editing may work for TV and small screen theaters but not for IMAX. Sound mix was bright and fairly well balanced.. Interviews were gems and the film does show how diverse the Stones are... even if a few bad chords are hit. Let's hope that Marty does Shine a Light II with the stadium shows featured.

Very interesting film of the Stones concert @ the Beacon Theater in New York. I did not see it in IMAX but I did see it in a regular theater. A must for Stones fans and for those who do not know much about them.

Jack White guests on this and blows like nothing on Earth, whereas Christins Aguileres also guests and rocks the house-great version of some Stones classics-I saw it several times and saw several edits-puzzled by that since its supposed to be a spontaneous event filmed as it happened. Weird. Some parts get a nine, others get a two.

I'm kind of impressed that even with gazillions of money, these guys work hard to put on a show. Didn't think that I'd like Keith Richards so much but he's genuine, self-deprecating and seems to love what he does. He smiled through the whole show as did I. I don't know if it's a masterpiece or must see for everyone but I'm sufficiently intrigued to see it again before it leaves IMAX.

A super movie. They are all good musicians, but the magic they produce together on stage is awesome. The next best thing to being at a show, at times you felt you were on stage with them.

Well, being ten years of age, I don't think that its influence on me would be the same as it would be on the average adult. I didn't enjoy it because it seemed to drag on and on. I thought that the editor made this movie boring instead of putting some excitement into it like he could have done. I also found it hard to look at Keith Richards, as he was probably the ugliest person I have ever laid eyes on- too many close ups! This was basically a two hour concert of watching old men sing with their ugly faces and poor wardrobes. Please don't waste your time with this one...

This was a great rockumentary! Martin Scorsese does it again. Seeing the Stones "larger than life" in Imax was amazing. The picture quality was amazing, as was the sound quality of the show. You have to give it to the Stones, they are still rocking after all these years. Sure, they may not sound crisp and clear, Jagger's voice isn't what it used to be, and the guitar playing of Richards and Wood is sub-par at times, but that's just the beauty of it all. When they all come together, they create magic on stage! This documentary shows up a quick behind the scenes look at the challenges of putting together and filming this concert. It also offers us some incredible old stock footage of interviews with the Stones at their very beginnings, put into context! The Stones set list for this particular concert movie was a great mixture of known and lesser known songs. Add to the mix 3 guest stars (Jack White iii, Buddy Guy, and Christina Aguilera), and celebrity attendees like President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Bruce Willis (near front row center wearing a yellow baseball cap), and it's quite an audio-visual spectacle! You have to give it up for Mick Jagger. The guy has so much energy on stage, and he just does not stop! He truly is a top notch entertainer and performer! My negatives on this one: I would have prefered another female singer instead of Christina Aguilera, someone with a more powerful and raunchy voice!!! Me no like the pop-bubble-gum singers. Sure, she has pipes, but does not belong on the same stage as the Stones. I also would have liked to see much more behind the scenes challenges of putting together this concert movie. We see some, but there must have been a lot more. It was a great movie, don't miss it in Imax (I don't know if it plays in regular theaters, but in Imax it is truly an amazing experience)

OUCH! This was a CASTASTROPHE. I was really excited to go see this at IMAX but the camera crew and editor did an aweful job. HORRIBLE. It felt like they forgot to put the MUSICIANS and their INSTRUMENTS to the foreground (yes, because the Rolling Stones are musicians that play music, not just personalities like you see on Entertainment Tonight) It was like a wacky MTV camera dynamics. It was impossible to focus on anything since there's cuts every second and a half. Snip here, snip there, snip snip snip. Man, BREATHE! The whole time I was wondering if it was the first time the camera crew filmed a concert. I don't think i've even seen one drum role from Charlie. It's like they totally forgot to film them play their instruments, they never focus long enough on them playing their instruments. Snip snip snip. Cuts cuts cuts. The camera's just jumping up and down like Mick Jagger. It was like watching BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. What happens when you give a video camera to somebody who never holded one in their hands before? EXTREME CLOSE-UP!! People tend to simply press on the zoom a little too much. Well that's what they did for 2 hours. Press on the zoom too much as if zooming on Mick and Keith's faces was enough to make this a memorable film. I know this might be too much to ask but I truely think the the camera crew should also be musicians because this was filmed more from a fan point of a view, like a fan filming the concert with his cell phone.

A refreshing movie! A nice break from s war, terrorism, slap-stick remakes & psycho killer flicks out there... see the new Sorcese film docu of the Rolling Stones "Shine a Light" the film editing was amazing. This documentary is a really good experience. It's a whole benefit concert filmed at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. The sound and quality was like being at the concert with montages of old B&W clips of the young Stones. With special guest appearances by Jack White, Buddy Guy, Christina Aguilera (she's the male version of Jagger! Energy! And pipes!) The energy that Jagger has at what 60 (? ) and the fun the band still has on stage... more so though I saw it as the "Rolling Stones Corporation"... that it is a business that the band takes that credo very seriously. Still today every show is important and their product has meet every ticket payers expectation-period. They are the pros unlike the whiney madonna status Back-Street Boys nobodies (see the finale of the Celeb Apprentice you'll get an idea) This movie showed that Keith Richards (he was hilarious!) is in reality a true musician in the group together with Ron Woods. Remarkable is the humbelness of Charlie Watts after all the years of concerts and interviews. Go see it even if you aren't a big Stones fan...

If you’re not a Stones fan, stay away. My first Rolling Stones concert was during the 'Some Girls' tour of 1978; I’ve seen them five times, and still I would like to see them again. This concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York City (2006) is great and intimate, but Scorsese's camera work isn't. Too many close up of Mick and not enough of the band as a whole, the main camera should of been at the back of the room, or simply zoom most of it out. We see little of the drum work; Charlie is almost invisible with Scorsese's lens. It's definitely a must see if your a fan, great set including 'As Tears Go By', 'Far Away Eyes' and the usual hits. Special appearances from Jack White, Aguilera and Buddy Guy. I enjoyed it; I was even wearing my favourite Rolling Stones t-shirt for the occasion. Try sitting furthest away from the screen, it's the only zoom out available! Enjoy!!

Excellent concert, some funny out takes from past interviews, the concert was excellent with guest appearance by Jack White of the White Stripes, Christina Aguilera and Buddy Guy. Mick, Keith, Ron and Charlie put on an excellent show. These have the stamina to put on a 2 hour show at there age is phenomenal. I highly recommend this show.

I had great expectations for this movie - the Stones by Martin Scorsese, who could ask for anything more? There are some great moments (Buddy Guy looking straight into the camera for almost 10 seconds- that was powerful!) and although I do recommend it greatly, I did leave the IMAX theatre somewhat disappointed. 1. Too many tight shots with MTV-style editing induces vertigo in an IMAX theatre; it felt claustrophobic at times - Mr. Scorsese is obviously not used to the IMAX format 2. The film is too long: could've done without the "invited guests" (Jack White & Christina Aguilera) although Buddy Guy was a real bonus - could do an IMAX film just on him! But that's another story... 3. The pacing of the film is uneven: thought it was ending on a few occasions just to have it restart on another segment - kinda lost my attention & focus 4. Mick Jagger's frenetic energy is enviable but he is in almost every single shot - it seemed to be the "Mick Jagger IMAX Film" 5. Seemed Mr. Scorsese couldn't make up his mind as to whether it was a documentary (great archival interviews & behind-the-scenes cutaways) vs. Rock-concert-as-film; the focus of the film seems a bit off Despite all this, the music is fantastic and to hear it in surround-sound in the IMAX theatre is wonderful. I recommend it to all - but do sit at the very back of the theatre otherwise you'll get a headache.

This is what rock & roll was meant to sound like and look like. Small theatre & intimate crowd... lots of sweat and a few mistakes makes it real... no lip sync crap like new artists do now, these old buggers show how it's done. Worth seeing for any music fan of any age plus you get a chance to see living legend Buddy Guy join in too!

I am a big fan of Stones and U2, I like Shine a Light, but nothing compared with U2 3D which was amazing! Both deserve attention, hopefully other bands will start to provide this kind of entertainment on theatres!

This was very well done. You can still see why the Rolling Stones are at the absolute apex of the Rock Pantheon. I wish the technology had been around to make a recording of this quality when the Stones were in their prime. It's a little weird watching a 65 year-old man strutting around the stage. I kept expecting Jagger to break a hip or something. I am positive that they will still be playing 20 years from now for the simple reason that the whole band is completely mummified. There's not a body part on them that can still die. If you at all enjoy the Rolling Stones, you will like this performance, just don’t expect them to rock-out like its still 1972.

A delight for any long-time fan of the Stones, or of rock'n'roll for that matter. This one surpasses all of the Stones' previous concert films. Great song selection, a great setting (New York's Beacon Theatre), and great performances (especially by Jagger).. Highly recommended.

I love the Rolling Stones, but I think they have had their day. I saw it on IMAX as I wanted the best possible experience. I left a feeling a little deflated. Mick was trying too hard to be "cool" yet his voice has not reached those younger day notes. Mostly talking/shouting through the songs. I also found Mick walking around the stage over and over a bit lame. He seemed to have lost his charisma, stage presense and core he once had. The other band members were more interesting to watch - namely Keith.

Just another attempt for the stones to suck more money from the consumer. Do them a favor and don't go or buy anything stones-related. They just won't go away... But one day we will be free of the disgrace they've become. After a while you see enough train-wrecks and you want to enjoy something good.

As a stones fan from way back when, I must say there is nothing new here. Same old same OLD. Mick's mic had too much bass on it. You would think that with a high quality technical progress of today's sound they would have gotten that right. It's only Rock 'n' Roll and I do like it but for heaven's sake, ending with Brown Sugar and Satisfaction preceeded by Start Me Up is just a little too much of the SAME OLD SAME OLD. I got no satisfaction here.
