A weak and disjointed film. Horrible waste of time. I want to call the iMax to get my money back.

Too Preachy. Also, not in 3D where I saw it. In 3D I would have given it a 7 or 8.

Having just seen the film "Up the Yangtze" that was brought in by the Film Guild group two days prior to seeing this, it was happenstance that the Grand Canyon Adventure was the film being shown at 4:00 pm which was the only time I had open to see whatever film happened to be playing at the time. I had long put to rest in my memory the Volta Dam issue that was foremost and centre when I spent four months in Ghana, West Africa, in 1980. I am already supportive of a group in Canada that has taken up the cause of protecting our water and our water rights that has become nothing more it seems than a political pawn. The Grand Canyon film was the third time this same situation was presented to me with great impact. It is all so heart-wrenching. What can one do?

Good effects and informative too. An 8 for me. Not really about the Grand Canyon as much as it's more focussed on the preservation of the Canyon in itself.

Too much talk about saving the planet, etc. Got kind of sickening. Some nice footage. Could have been more focused on the actual Grand Canyon and its history.

This preachy, pretentious effort is not worth your money. One of the above reviewers believes this film was about how global warming has changed the river (not the case-but even so) if you're looking for a politically correct IMAX film This Is It! If you want an exhilarating, captivating movie experience look elsewhere. Waste of money and time. My wife and daughters (7 & 9) thought it was lame. Can you tell I'm still miffed?

Picturesque landscapes and good choice of music. The only downside of this was that it was a little bit more of a father-daughter trip and the still present speech of: "Save our waters... blahblahblah." WE GET IT, o.k. ?!

To much talk about water (preserving it, depleting it, global warming...) and not enough about the Grand Canyon itself. Not informative enough for me, but visually good.

Ever get stuck looking at pictures of someone else's vacation. The producers seemed to make this movie only for their own family. The opening was nice but it went downhill from there. Really poor IMAX movie.

Ultimately disappointing, as this really seemed to just be a way for the producers to take their family members on a rafting trip and write the whole thing off by making a movie. And not a very good one, either. The title is deceptive; there are only a very few minutes of really good Grand Canyon footage, and not much information about the geography we were seeing. The music was well-done, but misapplied, often not matching the footage (a lot of white-water stuff, nothing really to do with the canyon) or it just seemed a bit trite to me. Also distracting was the narrator's voice, which sounded like David Suzuki, I mistakenly kept expecting things to start getting interesting... ! Was this a movie about the Grand Canyon or Glen Canyon? The world-wide water shortage and conversation efforts? Displaced native americans? White-water river-rafting? Or the producer's family? I have no idea, but I would never recommend this film as a way to enjoy the fantastic visual possibilities of IMAX...

IMAX Film should have Looked @ the Grandiose Panoramic Views instead of Concentrating on white h2o rafting & kayaking scenes. Were these guys lost on the Concept GRAND Canyon? Where was the Web Reference to WaterSeekers & or other h2o conservation org.s? ?

Captivating from beginning to end, a real eye opener and lots of beautiful scenery with a great story line about how global warming has drastically changed the river and other water sources.

While the opening sequence was amazing and the in-boat experience exhilirating, I really left the cinema looking for more. The movie relied too much on sweeping shots of the grand canyon to make up for the lack of content. I would have like more info on their actual trip, to make it into more of a story. There was no timeline or map of their journey! That made it seem like the whole movie was about a 2 day whitewater rafting trip! The canyon was grandiose. The story was not. The 'feel part of the river when I touch it' theme seem quite contrived and was repeated endlessly. You learn VERY little of the Native American's tribe (where they are, how they live, their values) All I remember is that they used to live near the river, now they don't. The presenter is also far too hesistant to blame anyone. For all the impact this movie COULD have had about raising specific issues about water consumption, a generic 'we should all pitch in' message really just isn't enough. Give us a story to make it compelling! And for Goodness sake, if the theme is water conservation, don't wait until AFTER THE CREDITS to give us tips! And make those tips more than 10 seconds long so we can remember them!

Good movie, but too IMAX-like (old black movies in a small window, country music, etc.)

Incredible 3-D effects. The opening shots will pull you in. If you like nature and travel you should see this. The White Water sequences were awesome -- I would have liked to see more of this footage; especially when the camera brought you in the raft.

Absolutely breathtaking. The scenery is so beautiful. All the music and the songs are performed by Dave Matthews Band, and it really brings the images to life. Wonderful!
