This is a film for Mike Caine lovers and he doesn't disappoint in this performance. It's wacky, wacky and more wacky--but a real hoot most of the time.

I like Michael Caine as an actor and he's getting up there in years so he won't make many more of these little gems. So, do yourself a favor and go see it. His character is quirky, eccentric and that's what makes the movie work so well.

A comedy-drama movie with touching, heartful scenes as well as depressing scenes. Very well acted by the entire cast especially between Michael Cane as the elderly man and the young boy, Milner. Any fan of Cane should see this film!

As a mediator, I would say there is such a thing as a British accent, but that it is not only bearable but rather pleasing. So... about the movie. It is disappointing to see quite early in the game that this movie is not living up to it's previews. The relationship between the old man and the boy does not develop into a good fit. We have seen better in that department. It is not Caine, nor the boy, who is good and endearing. I think we don't know enough about Caine's past and why he is so guilt-ridden. The wheels don't come off the wagon but they creak.

I really liked the film. I thought it was sensitive about the whole issue of growing old with strangers, really, in an old age home. The cast was excellent and the acting superb even the young boy.

Michael Caine is superb in this little gem. The wife and I laughed and reminisced about our own childhoods; and it certainly makes you aware of your own mortality and how much each day we are together is a blessing and a gift.

Certainly not the usual stuff from LA studios. I found the story just okay not great. I liked another film about an elderly choir that I saw last year about this time much better.

A wonderful film. Strong sentimentality tugging at your heartstrings--and nostalgia of your youth and past relationships, a bit of romance to rekindle fond memories and some good belly laughs thrown in make this film work.

I loved this really offbeat movie. Mr Caine is wonderful and I especially liked the little boy. It's a wonderful little story. Go see it with your Mom...

Michael Caine at age 76 must have had a real personal challenge with the story as he obviously had to deal with his own issues of mortality. Maybe that's what helps make his performance so good. A treat and delight and a half!

I loved the movie. I laughed and cried throughout the film at the antics of the little boy who grew up in an old age home run by his parents. A little gem of a movie here folks.

What a terrific film! Michael Caine is delightful in this role. Such a refreshing change from the typical Hollywood dribble. Really offbeat and thoroughly enjoyable, especially with the British accents and lovely countryside.

It is a stretch to give it a '6'. Michael Caine has been paying himself for decades now and is as predictable as ever. His robust post-cockney charm continues to be redeeming. Here his role oscillates between depression, regret and delusion with occasional outbursts of anarchy. Quite a match for young Bill Milner as Edward who (almost) steals each scene. This is a pretty desperate vision of alienated decline -- too much angst to be a comedy, but without enough substance to be a drama. The whole thing is just odd and I left with a headache.

Fine scenario but the theme could have been better exploited. The unbearable british accent makes it hard to follow at times. Michael Caine is excellent.
