This is a total must see! I laughed the whole way through great cast, witty, clever, colorful.

What a waste of time. They try to make jokes about penis and sex and lesbians but it comes out perturbing and awkward. At all times, weird calls from random characters made me wanna get off my seat and leave. It was dumb from the beginning till the end.

This is a snooze fest. I thought it was mindless drivel... such a shame.

This movie was excellent! My family and friends watch Love Actually every Boxing Day but now that I have seen this movie I am definitely adding it to the list of movies for Boxing Day. I had no idea there was this rebel radio station in the 60's but now I want to be a part of that station. Amazing job! Well done!

You know what, this was a great movie. Nothing Epic about it, just a fun movie to watch. Great bunch of actors too.

A bit of historical fact is told through a combination of a great mix of ecclectic characters, and some real good early rock and roll music. In particular, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh and Philip Seymour Hoffman are standouts who nail their roles perfectly. For a good evening's entertainment and a few laughs to boot go see this "gem in the rough".

I'm in love with this movie. Since i've seen this movie i've had All Day And All Of The Night by The Kinks stuck in my head. The only thing that could have made it better was finding out what happen to the characters at the end. But that's just a little side note. But I wanted to see the movie again right after seeing it.

A refreshing story, very enjoyable from beginning to end. Makes you laugh out loud, and the characters are very likable. Very much worth seeing, you will not regret it.

This movie is a celebration of rock and roll done with cartoon characters. The British government is portrayed as the bad guys, of course. All of the officials are nerdy and uptight, convinced that the pirate broadcasters are moral degenerates. And the broadcasters are shown as, well, moral degenerates. They are mostly dirty old men, have no qualms about seducing young groupies, betraying one another, and saying salacious things on the air. Into this situation comes a young man who is innocent, but who is gradually converted to the ways of the disk jockeys. There is almost no character development, and the main theme is that rock and roll is fun, moral degeneracy goes with rock and roll, so moral degeneracy is fun. Great soundtrack, lousy message.

Loved it. I was there too and remember it all too well. I remember when songs like 'Such a night' and Chantilly Lace' were banned from school dances and we really did only listen to them after 'lights out'! , never mind the radio... This movie told the story very well...

This movie had a bit of everything. It has comedy (obviously), drama and suspense. The acting is very well done and the script could not be written any better! I was expecting it to be a half-ass comedy, but I was very pleasantly surprised, entertained and there are lots of laughs for everyone! The best movie that I have seen in a while!!! If you don't see it in theaters definitely rent it!

In addition to great music and identifying with this generation, each character was unique, well scripted and perfectly acted. A NUST SEE for those of you who went through this era and for those who need to see how this era generated change.

I am always amazed at how undiscerning movie goers can be when rating films. This movie was nowhere close to being even a 5 out of 10, let alone 10 out of 10!!! Boring, boring, boring!!!

I'm from that era. Loved the sound track. Loved the look of the movie. It was watchable and kept my interest despite poor character development. It was almost like watching little sketches about what was going on at the ship and at the same time the political situation in the UK. Good actors in a fun but flawed movie.

Brilliant movie, I always enjoy Richard Curtis movies and this was no exception! The cast were great. My daughter saw this movie five times in the UK (she works in a cinema), where it is called The Boat That Rocks, she loves it so much. She says they have cut out a lot in this version, so I will be getting the DVD of the UK version, cos it will make more sense. Well worth seeing, great music and acting, a feel good movie :)

Horrible movie I didn't really find any of it funny maybe one or two parts, but other then that it was just stupid humour and a lame storyline.

They tried to copy the "Mama Mia" model and it bombed. Thin plot, weedy characters and toilet-wall dialogue that would interest 13-year schoolboys.

I really enjoyed this... soundtrack is a must buy if you "grew up" in the sixties. Hoffman, Nighy and Ifans are great, so is the young man who plays Carl. Branagh makes a fanastic villan.

This is a foot tapping pleasure to see and hear. Richard Curtis has done it again. It's an entertaining mixture of a coming of age flick," Good Morning Vietnam," "The Titanic," and "The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming." You'll understand that once you've seen it. You could hear a pin drop in the theatre, and then gasps, when the character of the Mnister said his last line.

I didn't expect much from this movie, and so came away pleasantly surprised. I've had a rare few nights and parties that came close to this story's experience - memorable and compelling and filled with music. Simply awesome (not a word I choose or use lightly) The characters were fully fleshed out and therefore believable, and the jokes were priceless. Hopefully there will be a soundtrack published for this.

This film is poignant, funny, sexy and very up to date for a historical piece. Well worth taking in. It is packed with good stuff. Unfortunately, it has been given a bad rap by a lot of movie reviewers who are bought-off by the Hollywood romantic comedy and action-horror crap-producers. Ignore the those reviews because they are only trying to kill of a great movie that breaks the mould altogether.

It is so rare that a comedy stands out for good reason! You can hardly restrain yourself from laughting and twisting for the two hours! A rare succes in making a historical/musica movie, the one we were all waiting for since the sad reasult of across the universe.

Very funny movie. I want to get the sound track even though some of the songs were from the 70's. I found myself singing along. They had the right actors for the characters they played. A movie I will add to my DVD collection.
