Pretty formulaic but still well done and heartwarming true story – Sandra Bullock is one hot mama … and did a pretty great job although her role seemed to have a “one note” thread to it … the thread of determination … there's also a lot to be said about the fortune or misfortune one has depending on what side of town a person is born in.

I was expecting a tear jerker - but I'm glad it wasn't. Great movie. Even though Bullock is incredibly arrogant in all her interviews, bragging how much money the movie made- she was still pretty good.

This is a such poor movie in so many ways that I don't know where to begin. However, if you enjoy racial stereotypes, shallow one-dimensional characters and mindless feel-good "entertainment" for an hour, this might be the movie for you!

I loved everything about this movie. Definitely a must see. Sandra Bullock is not one of my favorite actress, but she did a very good job in this film. Kindness & generosity can make such a difference in a person's life. A story of hope for humankind.

It was warm-hearted and inspiring. Firsly I LOVE SANDRA! She was wonderful, honest and believable in this role. So happy she's nominated, it was deserved, and the actor who played the footballer was so convincing.

It's a nice warm movie about courage and compassion. The good stuff that happens to Mike is a bit too colourful, I would say too good to be true, but it is pleasant to watch. I would recommend to watch it, but you don't have to rush to the cinema, you may watch it as effectively in the comfort of your couch.

The blind side is one of the best movies!! The movie shows the way white people with the black in our time- seems some time in the 20th or 21st centery. This movie shows how a family made peace and harmony. IF you haven't seen the movie you are in for a suprise with your emotions. The best part is, it is based on a true story!!! I don't think this movie could be any better! GO SEE IT NOW!!! I repeat GO SEE IT NOW!!!

I was expecting more. Sure it's a good movie but I felt it lacked in a few places and it felt a bit cheezy and that there was little talk of family issues that would come up in a situation like this.

Maybe as a TV Movie-of-the-Week, even then not worth sitting through. In all aspects, mediocre at its best, unbelievable sap at its worse. I call it "Precious-Lite."

I wanted to sit through this a movie a second time just to make sure that I hadn't missed anything. Wonderful message in this movie. A must to own!! Sandra Bullock is amazing and I thought that Tim McGraw was perfect to play opposite her. The young man, who plays Michael, did an excellent job. This was, without doubt, the best movie I have seen in a very long time!

A really nice movie with good values. This is what I like to see - a feel good movie that makes you want to be a better person when you leave. Showing the real characters at the end was a nice touch.

So I would not choose this type of football movie usually. It was fantastic. Sandra with blond hair does not suit her but that's beside the point. The message and based on the true story made this movie incredible. A must see in the theaters.

The fact that AMPAS considered this one of the 10 best films of the year is laughable. I don't see how this can compare to Where the Wild Things Are, The White Ribbon, Bad Lieutenant, Adventureland, The Messenger, Fantastic Mr. Fox, A Single Man, or Mary and Max, movies that weren't nominated so The Blind Side could have been. The biggest offender here is the screenplay, which makes Michael Oher so passive you couldn't care whether he achieves his goals or not. He's uninteresting and a static character, the only change he has are his surroundings. Quinton Aaron plays him and acts as if he has a disability, which is unfortunate because Oher isn't an idiot. Every character is paper-thin and Leigh Anne is a very unlikeable protagonist. She does go through a change in the film but it doesn't really have any basis, you don't really know why she's changing. The film is racist to both whites *and* blacks through negative portrayals of both communities, especially the African-American community, where everyone is on drugs and is a gangster unless they have a white family helping them. The only good part of the film is Sandra Bullock, who is fine but nowhere near Academy Award® worthy. She is a good comedic actress but her more dramatic attempts don't really seem to work out. She's just a complete surface portrayal of a typical southern woman, no depth to her whatsoever and definitely no subtlety (no subtlety in the film either, each point is hammered home until the hammer breaks) It's manipulative of the viewer, offensive through the use of unrelenting stereotypes, and there's no dramatic tension whatsoever. That brings up the point of Jae Head, who in my opinion gave the worst performance of 2009. He was unnecessary comic relief from a light fluffy movie. Why was catharsis needed?

A modern fairy tale - poor black orphan rescued by rich republican princess. Would have been trite and unbelieveable if it were fiction, but as a true story its fascinating. Sandra Bullock's best role so far.

A very nice surprise. Even if you do not like "sports movies" well go see it anyways! For the beautiful story, for the funny moments (and they are a lot of them I promise) or to see Sandra Bullock finally being given to chance to play a role that can challenge her a bit. Go, bring your tissues and enjoy!

Great movie! Sandra Bullock is excellent... and so is Tim McGraw and the rest of the cast. Such an inspiring (true)story. I'm glad hollywood finally made a great movie (without sex and violence) for the whole family. Well done! This movie is a must see.

Sandra Bullock is at her best here. The kid who played Sean Jr. was very cute! I just felt that the story was somehow more analytical about football than Michael's adjustment in school.
