Jerry Welbach (Brad Pitt), a bungling gangster, promised his girlfriend Samantha (Julia Roberts) to give up his criminal ways. But first he has to do one last job. He must travel to Mexico and bring back a special hundred-year-old pistol, The Mexican, which is believed to carry a curse. But when Jerry arrives to Mexico, the race to get the antique gun begins, and from that point, nothing seems to work out.
