Chicago is Perfect. It's the best musical I've ever seen. It is extremely entertaining and irresistible. The choreography is very good, sexy, and sensually pleasing. It grasps the moviegoing eye. It rocks hard as the best picture of the year.

This was a bit of a dissappointment to me. I thought there was a little too much singing.

Very touching musical that put alot of viewers attention on the music as well as having some action and romance. So all in all a bit of everything which put this movie for many viewers like myself to see it again and we do not get bored of this kind of musical.

Just amazing. The actors truly outdid themselves. I personally thought anyone in a lead role deserved an oscar. They can all act, sing, dance... Truly outstanding.

I personally loved this movie, I love musicals, and the fact it had jazz made it all the more better. I bought the soundtrack and it still remains one of my fav. Cds. I think everyone should see it and if they don't... you're definitely missing out.

I walked out of the theatre. I couldn't take it any more. I sat there way longer than I wanted to. I kept thinking "If one more person who can't sing and can't dance starts up I'm going to explode". So Lame.

I love Musical theatre, and so I liked this. The main thing that carries this movie is the songs- they are fantastic songs. This is my form of Rebellion. I defy anyone not to be entertained by this dazzeling film, not to come out singing the songs or finding Renee Zellweger cute. It is also very funny with some fantastic dancing. I don't see how any one can find it boring.

Cinema will never be able to match the caliber of the spectacular 1930's musicals. And on a more present day note, 'CHICAGO' is no where near the execellence of productions like 'Oklahoma, ' West Side Story, ' or 'Flower Drum Song.' I rented this movie on PPV and almost turned it off after the first 30 minutes. How incredibly boring. My son just told me that they showed this movie at the assisted-living home, where he is employed as a security guard. He said that 70% of the old people walked out within the first 30 minutes, exclaiming how boring it was... LOLX10!!

This has got to be not only the poorest best picture winner, but the poorest best picture candidate. What a weak year for film it must have been. Just because it was a musical, this film had to win a bunch of Oscars. The performances are extremely good, though. The actors do get to showcase their talents. This is not a bad film, but it is nothing special. An amusing film for a Tuesday afternoon.

Jazz was great; couldn't get into the rest of it. Should have spent the $7 on the CD.

The oscar phenomenon that is Chicago is a very difficult film to review. If every critic on the planet was completely honest with themselves, they would have to come to the conclusion that Chicago is actually not that much of a movie. But it is a fabulously entertaining piece of theatre, caught on film. The stirring musical that was Chicago on broadway was a fantastic show to see live, the film catches all of that onto film, with the help of perfectly cast actors and actresses. I normally despise jazz music myself, but the score and original songs (All That Jazz, Razzle Dazzle, and Mr. Celephane) all got me out of my seat dancing. Director Rob Marshall has absolutely no job as a director, mainly just as a coreographer. But he does it fabulously, definitely oscar worthy but not as good as Peter Jackson's job in the Lord of the Rings or Roman Polanski's the Pianist. The real star of Chicago is the flawless performances by all the cast, Renee Zellwegger probably deserved the academy award for her performance, although I have not yet seen Nicole Kidman in the Hours. Catherine Zeta-Jones has unbelievable energy in her role as Velma Kelly and will blow you out of your seat. Richard Gere certainly deserved at least an oscar nomination for best actor, delivers a hilarious and witty performance as Billy Flynt. Queen Latifah in her first serious film delivers quite the performance, but is overshadowed by the rest of the cast. And undoubteb |
