Judd Apatow has had some incredible movies, Super Bad being my favorite. But in all honesty I didn't think this was one of his best, I loved it but I think what ruined it was the way the jokes were said. They were funny, but the timing seemed off. Regardless I thought the movie was funny and clever and was all about friendship. I also thought James Franco was incredible playing a dealer... everyone knows him as Peter Parker's best friend (and as a hottie) but he seemed to fit the role of a lazy, long-haired dealer.

This movie is a disgrace... I was bored... didn't really like the movie at all... we were 4 friends and all of us didn't like it. If you look at the title, it's poorly written, well it gives you an idea about the movie... poorly written with not much of a budget...

This movie is STUPID!!! My boyfriend and I should have left the theater. I could tell this movie wasn't worth watching in the first 30 mins and to have to sit through the next 82 mins was painful. You don't have to be a "pothead" to enjoy a "stoner" movie (in response to another review)'cause I've seen Super Troopers and that movie was awesome. Pineapple Express is just a BAD movie that was nothing but a waste of money.

This movie was horrible! I was bored about 15 mins into it and my friend kept asking me if we could leave. I kept thinking "it has to get better than this!". Boy, was I wrong! I would avoid or at least wait until it comes out in video.

They tried too hard. It really isn't funny. People just think that Apatow movies are automatically funny so that is why the average rating is an 8 rather than a 2. Superbad is funny, this movie isn't.

Very disappointed. My husband (34) and I were really looking forward to this movie. Maybe our expectations were too high. We found it to be long, boring and pointless. There was barely anyone in the theatre and few laughs. Worth renting.

It's like Jay and Silent bob mixed with Don't mess with the ZOhan (without the hummus) implanted into an action movie. It's not a thinking movie, it's an action comedy. If you're up for a good laugh and a fun romp, don't miss it.

A lot of the good exerts were in the previews but the stoner talk was quite funny. James Franco did a great job. Pretty funny, but not outrageous. Pretty good overall but I would rent it.

I liked the stoner conversations, they are accurate and hilarious. James Franco makes the whole thing worth watching, his nice-drug-dealer part steals the movie. Any parts without him are slow moving and slightly clumsy. Halfway through the movie they mock movie violence with a superb three-way fight. But by the end the movie violence becomes a big part of the plot and contradicts its earlier mockery. Good stoner film but I think they got to the end and tried to do a "Hot Fuzz" finale. Didn't work. Hurt the movie. Might be better on DVD with more stoner talk added.

We watched The Rocker and Pineapple Express the same night at the Drive-in. The Rocker was GREAT, Pineapple express was nothing more than a second rate pot movie. Rent an old Cheech and Chong movie instead.

Garbage. Good for the 12 and under crowd. Go see Superbad, at least it has some wit and good jokes. I mean Hollywood really dumb down movies for the Generation x crowd but this stuff for the Generation Zero group (25 and under) is ridiculous. How much more can they dumb down these movies lol.
