[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I think people are a little harsh on M. Night. He tries to encrouch on a variety of topics and re-invent them. In ths case human relationship with its environment. That being said Wahlberg's acting and watching people committ suicide isn't entertaining.

Starts off OKAY but quickly turns into utter and complete nonesense. Being a giant fan of M. Night Shyamalan, it was an awful and total letdown. The worst feeling I had (or could ever have) while watching this movie was to not care at all what happens to the characters and that's exactly what happened to me. I so just didn't care anymore, I just waited patiently for the end credits. I thought The Day After Tomorrow was dumb for having a scene where they outrun the cold but in this one, outrunning the wind seems even dumber. There is not really a 'reveal' in this one but when you figure out what's going on, it's just totally preposterous rather than deep, profound or even shocking. Even more stupid (and this is something we see from time to time in movies like this) is when the entire fate of humanity appears to be on the brink, and yet the main characters decide to focus 100% of their attention on their failing relationship. UGH! I could understand if they decided to copulate in fear of it being their last few minutes on Earth, but to actually waste time arguing over who squeezes the toothpaste the wrong way is just absurdity to the tenth degree. If I ever find myself on the same crashing plane with the director, I'm going to mention that he still owes me $1.60 towards the breakfast bill we split the week earlier. The only reason I don't give this movie the worst possible rating ever is that Mark Wahlberg's performance is SO BAD that it's actually funny at times. "Could this really be... happening? " OMG!

I think people don't like it because what happens is unexplainable. People need to be able to reason things and this movie blocks that ability. Signs was along the same lines, but they showed the alien, which in my opinion made the movie less exhilarating. The mind has a much better imagination if things aren't shown to them.

This movie is a deep reality on its own level. Great to see.

A very good movie but to [...] who don't know how to think wouldn't like it because you have to know that the wind is not caused by leafs and that mother nature controls the world.

Great story line... BAD ACTING! I still don't understand why some people became infected and others did not!

A contender for the worst movie of this year. M. Night Shyamalan needs to stop with these unbelievable plot twist movies. You think he would have learned from the depressingly bad "Lady in the Water". Every performance is a bust, every scene is a drag and every minute is like an hour. I wouldn't waste my time or money on "The Happening".

Neat concept for a movie but doesn't deliver. Bad dialogue (people were actually laughing in the theatre at how bad some lines were) Bad acting by Mark Wahlberg. I have to say I sort of wanted the whole cast to get smoked. I couldn't care less about anyone in this story. One of the worst M. Night Shyamalan movies.

I have heard a lot of bad reviews from this movie and I just don't understand them. I thought the story was very creative, where others find the movie to be highly silly and unrealistic (I think most people are just too simple) The movie encouraged me to use my imagination, much like all of Shimalan's (spelling? ) movies. Although it is not my favorite of his movies, this is among the top three! Great comic relief, Wahlberg did a great job! I don't scare easy, and it frightened me, great ending!

The Happening could be called Nothing Happening with the rest of M. Night's film career. I mean, heck, if you need material, do a sequel to the sixth sense, the kid can still see dead people right, even though he's got a drinking problem now, it should be better than this!

I think this movie had an original idea, but it was poorly executed. I guess the ending was okay but it was extremely predictable, along with the rest of the movie. I would not see this movie again.
