Hockney, is a generous, thoughtful exploration of one of Britain's most important artists, David Hockney. This intimate portrait of a great painter and photographer invites viewers into the artist's personal film archives as he shares his family, friends, colleagues and prolific artwork.
From his birth in West Yorkshire in 1937 to today, at age 78, Hockney explains his thoughts and feelings about events throughout his life, at times with personal home movies and family photos. He talks about swinging-'60s London, New York's art boom, his home in Los Angeles and the devastating '80s and '90s, when he lost so many friends, colleagues and acquaintances to AIDS.
