John Wick: Chapter 2 is about as good an action sequel as one could have hoped for. The original, with its gloriously operatic gunfights and tongue and cheek humor was a surprise hit with audiences, and this follow up is every bit as good. The fact that you now know what to expect from Mr. Wick does work a bit against the sequel, the surprise element being a key to the original's success, but a certain degree of familiarity is inevitable with any sequel so it really isn't a problem. The action is larger scale, the body count is higher, and the seemingly never-ending supply of villains are cooler and tougher. If you were a fan of the first film you'll love this one.
