Cinematheque - Toronto The change in the relationship between Gene Tierney's beautiful 'Laura' and Dana Andrew's tough cop 'McPherson' was probably impacted by the no-hanky-panky-code in effect at the time, detracting from their characters' believability. Otherwise, the twists & turns in this thriller kept one guessing and the cynical/sardonic dialogue given to Clifton Webb was a delight! Vincent Price played a role totally contradictory to his future image, and did it well.
