One of the most talked about celebrity sex symbols of all time is brought gloriously to life once again in this engaging story about the filming of the Prince and the Showgirl and the clashing of Sir Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Munroe. Michelle Williams is just perfect, really making the legendary role her own. Not only is she a dead ringer for Marilyn physically (WOW), but capturing her fragility and emotional insecurity as well. Her performance is without a doubt the centerpiece of the film, but Brannagh is her match as Olivier. The film also has some clever quips about the film industry that will please buffs like myself. I was also especially fascinated in the film's assertion that pretty much everyone that ever came into contact with Marilyn one way or the other ended up falling for her. Not just lust, but actual love. Though that was interesting. All in all good film.
