With a script as empty as the wide open landscapes it's very hard to like this movie. One must really enjoy the western genre and the morality play typical of the western to rate this film highly. For me, not much rang true in this film. Other than the Duvall character, everything else seemed phony or unnatural. I attribute most of this to a poor script and not the acting which was adequate in my opinion. The gunfight was the highlight of this movie, it was very well directed..
