    Patriots Day

The team behind Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon has yet another stirring tribute to be proud of with Patriots Day, an account of the Boston Marathon bombings, and the subsequent investigation by BPD and the FBI to catch those responsible. Told from several different perspectives, including the bombers, this is a gripping and realistic portrayal of the few days where the eyes of the world were on the city of Boston. Mark Wahlberg is perfectly cast as a police Sgt, and he's got a ton of support from Goodman, Bacon and Simmons. The pacing is furious, with a compassionate exactness and attention to detail, specifically with regards to the victims, that defines the spirit of the Berg/Wahlberg collaborations. Just as it was with Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon, it's clear how much honoring these people the right way means to both men. And honor them they have.
