This remake makes the original look like a classic, which it wasn't. And it's two leads Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez, make Reeves and Swayze (Rip), look like Spencer Tracy and Fredric March. It's not all their fault, the script is beyond awful, and would probably sound bad no matter who was saying it. Director Ericson Core, who doubles as the cinematographer, deserves a little credit for some incredible visuals, and the stunt team deserves a standing O. However, it's just not enough. Hard to make an impactful film when it feels like the screenplay was concocted by writing the stunts first and filling in the dialogue later.
