Good first Hollywood movie for Denis Villeneuve. Suspense movies are difficult to master and this was well done. That would be a 7 in my book. Scenario let hints too evident for my taste though. Less than 20 minutes into the movie, I had discovered more than half of the ending and found the detective persona not very bright to overlook the bread crumbs that led to the end. That would be a 5 in my book. The actors’ performances were very credible and reflected the anguish inherent to the characters’ mood. That would be an 8 in my book. For all these factors, I would give the movie a 7.

Hello Jo, I saw this movie and I do not agree with your opinion about main detective. The beauty about his work was that he was just doing his work, there was nothing spectacular but overall was totally effective. He followed the procedure and he was a great worker who is never bored with his job. I have a friend like him. Person is not spectacular but slowly solves all the problems just by (again) doing his job and is always the best work. I know it's a film character but people like that exist. Simple, curious without waiting for an applause, involved. I like all aspects of this movie and detective was my favorite character. All the best. Eve.
