I review this movie as follows: a must see, but this is not where you will find the Avatar wow factor and that's because that is not what this movie is about. This movie is the introduction of a new story with new stars of the saga. What it does have offer is: solid character development, fun story, fantastic special effects that result in a great movie experience. I personally loved it and will go watch it again. Rating: Aces full of kings.

There was no character development. It was less than fun to watch. I thought the sfx were average. It wasn't a new story, it was anh mashed into a new package.
I see over 10 movies per month. I thought they did a good job in showing us Rey and Finn background. Clever from JJ to use the effective formula from intitial movie with some cool surprises (I won't go in details not to spoil it) and addition of updated CGI technology. Disney is bringing new characters now and certainly brings them to us in a pleasant way. Any true StarWars fan will enjoy it. I wish I could medial in in more details but will wait until the story is known first.
