Caught Welcome to NY at Fantasia hosted by its director Abel Ferrara and had very little idea what I was in store for. It is an examination of a sex addict meant to be DSK of the IMF who was accused of sexually assaulting a maid in a NY hotel. Now Ferrara's work is not for everyone, surely a sentiment taken to heart by the many who walked out during the opening reel which features more breasts and lude sexual acts than descernable lines of dialogue. The film makes no judgements about its lead character but doesn't really explore anything beyond his uncontrollable sexual appetites, making for a fairly heavy going movie experience. A tough film to recommend and a typically divisive piece of work from Ferrara, but one that shouldn't be so easily dismissed, even if it doesn't work as entertainment.
