Jean-Marc Vallée is a miracle director, a game changer. I didn't much care for Mathew McConaughey as an actor until I saw Dallas Buyers Club. I didn't care at all for Reese Witherspoon as an actress until I saw this movie. There's either one of 2 things happening here: Vallée can bring the absolute best out of ordinary actors or these 2 actors were already good but they needed him to show the world what they could do. Whatever it is, he has magical tricks up his sleeves and I'm going to watch the next movie he comes up with for sure. The movie itself was great. It moves at a slow pace but that is the intention. It will make you think and perhaps reflect on your own life, where you are at this moment in it and where you want to be. I didn't think it was near perfect like Dallas Buyers Club was nor did I expect it too. I decided to see it because I had nothing else to do that day and what a good decision that was. Few director's can redeem actors that are on my list of poor actors and actresses because of previous films I saw with said actors but this one can. So what's next? Can he have the power to make me change my mind when it comes to Colin Farrell? John Travolta? What about Nicolas Cage or even Keira Knightley? I believe he does but sadly I might never know. Whatever. See this movie.
