The chemistry between Patrick Wilson and Charlize Theron does not work and it's so evident in the movie that it looks painful. Nobody in the cast comes close to her acting talent and it shows. What is she doing in a movie like this is anybody's guess. I thought the character played by Patton Oswalt was interesting and deserved to be developed further or more profoundly. Talking about profoundness, that's essentially what this movie lacks. It's about shallow people wearing masks, telling lies, being superficial and terribly unhappy. I waited the whole movie for something great to happen that would make the movie worth seeing and redeem it but it never came. Another thing: Why oh why was this movie rated G? There were kids in the theater that played with their cell phones and talked throughout the movie. They couldn't possibly understand what was going on so they annoyed the rest of us the whole time! On a final note: If you are depressive, stay away from this movie. It will exacerbate your problems. If you are not depressive, stay away from it anyway as it might take the smile off your face.
