In the vibrant backdrop of 1934 Shanghai, a world of insects mirroring human society, Inspector Sun, a seasoned spider, undertakes his final mission to confront his long-standing foe, the Red Locust, before embracing retirement. However, his planned vacation aboard a Pan Am clipper from Shanghai to San Francisco takes a dramatic turn when the wealthy Dr. Spindelthorp is discovered murdered. What initially appears to be a routine case for Sun soon evolves into a pivotal moment that will determine the destiny of both insect-kind and humanity at large.
