After a car accident left revered HIV/Aids doctor Grace Dammann in a 48-day coma, her life changed forever. While she miraculously regained her cognitive abilities, her body was left severely disabled. States of Grace follows Grace as she struggles to reinvent herself and find meaning in her radically altered life. This moving film also documents the unexpected journey of a family in the wake of a devastating crisis, as her longtime partner becomes Grace's primary caregiver and the only able-bodied parent to their disabled daughter.
